Commissions

The City Council of the City of Artesia desires to involve its citizens in the affairs of the City by providing opportunities for participation and service on local regulatory and advisory bodies.  Advisory Bodies are comprised of volunteers appointed by City Council to serve their communities.  Individuals may serve on more than one Advisory Body at a time. City Council members do not serve on the Advisory Bodies.

There are five Advisory Boards in the City of Artesia Beautification & Maintenance Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Public Safety Commission, and Measure M Citizens' Committee. Members of the Planning Commission are compensated $50 per month for attendance at regular monthly meeting.
